School Tour 1994

Chamonix & Mt. Blanc, France
On the Feb mid term the lads from the college made their way to the alps of France. Mt. Blanc, Annecy and the Aosta valley were all on visit list. This year the tour took a land bridge down through England to France. After an overnight in Paris the group headed south eastwards to the Alps and Annecy. The postcard perfect town of Annecy sits on a lake of the same name and the paddle boats were in great demand until the boys found out that the water temperature was just above freezing.
The Next day we headed out to Mt. Blanc the highest peak in Europe. The trip up the cable car to the Aguille du Midi was an experience and many prayers were said by all en route to the top. The vista from the summit was remarkable and not to be forgotten. The following day the coach headed for the Aosta Valley in Italy where a number of hill top castles were visited before heading back to base camp in Annecy.
