All-Ireland Track & Field

Good Luck to Mark English, Ruairi Finnegan and Peter Lynch who will represent the school at the national track & field finals in Tullamore this coming Saturday.

Mark English will compete in the Senior 800m which will be one of the highlights of the day. After last weeks magnificent success in Moscow, Mark will be aiming high.

Ruairi Finnegan will be hoping to do well in the Intermediate 1500m. Ruairi has had a great season so far and he will be hoping to continue this success before settling down to sit his Junior cert exams.

Peter Lynch will compete in the Junior 1200m walk. This is quite an achievement so far for a 1st year pupil with little athletics experience.

Good luck to the lads at the weekend, and indeed to all the athletes in the school over the summer months.

Ulster Track & Field

Congratulations to Peter Lynch, 1st year, who qualified for the All-Ireland 1200m walk at the weekend. Ruairi Finnegan, 3rd year, qualified in the intermediate 1500m while Dan Carr, 5th year, qualified in the senior 3000m walk. Mark English, who could not attend due to other athletics events will qualify also in the senior 800m. Congratulations to all the boys. They will now travel to the nationals in Tullamore next weekend, 4th and 5th of June.

English Excels at Europeans

Congratulations to 5th year's Mark English who competed at the European Youth Olympic qualifiers in Moscow at the weekend. Mark finished the 1000m final in 1st place in a time of 2:24.53. Mark will now represent Ireland in the Youth Olympic games in Singapore in August. This is the breeding ground for future olympic stars, so no doubt we will see plenty of this young athlete in the years to come.
