Ski Tour 2001

This year saw the skiiers from the college head to the Dolomites in Northern Italy and the pretty town of Folgaria. we stayed in a village called Serrada which was a master stroke as it was a smaller ski station and you had access to the ski circuit without the hassle of standing in long lines waiting for the ski lift.
The hotel had a ski guide called Luca who was able to take the more capable skiers on long circuits and really cover some milage every day. The ski instructors had lots of patience and their favourite line was "Don't cross your-a Tips!". Both Discos in the John club were amazing with a real party atmosphere and Eunan's lads the only boys there with four all girl groups!
As the group all progressed they headed for Fondo Grande which is a lovely cross country ski to the main station. It was here that we met with a number of people from Donegal. With everyone able to tackle red runs by the fourth day the excitement grew as every evening the stories of the days events were exchanged and notes on the best runs compared. Luca was not just a guide he was a real gem of a ski instructor who we had to ourselves all week. With his expert guidance many of the group developed at a real fast pace and became very competent skiiers.
