• Earrings, ear studs and facial jewellery are not permitted.
• Students must be clean shaven.
• Hair should be clean and tidy, and any extremes will be dealt with by the college authorities

4 Positive Behaviour /Attitude
Students who behave in a positive way will achieve better results in exams, contribute to the life of the school and reflect well on their families and school. Students must behave properly at all times, including to and from school.

• In class and on school grounds
By proper behaviour students are encouraged to make every attempt to be mannerly to theirteachers, fellow students, college personnel and members of the general public. Students shouldbe quiet in class: not speak out of turn, be cheeky to their teachers, make inappropriate comments about staff members or fellow students. Students should show a co-operative attitude to teachers, show tolerance for others views and never provoke a conflict or use bad language or profanities.

• Disruptive behaviour
Disruptive behaviour is the disturbing of a class by a student through lateness, being without books, talking to other students without permission, making inappropriate comments, throwing items in class, making noises of any description, disregarding a teachers instructions and using bad or foul language. It includes any other behaviour that makes teaching and learning difficult.

• Outside school during the school day
Students must have regard for members of the general public while using the town at lunchtime and going and coming from school. Outside the school, a student represents his school and his family. Being ill mannered to members of the general public reflects badly on the school and the student’s family. Misbehaving, throwing any items such as bottles, fireworks or any other propellants poses a serious risk to the health and safety of fellow students and members of the general public and is forbidden.

• Fighting
Fighting on or outside school grounds is a form of behaviour that is not tolerated by the school. Fighting may result in serious injury to students involved and brings students, their school and families into disrepute.

• Bullying
Bullying and encouragement to such misbehaviour does great damage to a student’s confidence, self-esteem, happiness and well being. All students must learn to be tolerant and accepting of other students irrespective of creed, race, orientation or language. Bullying damages a student’s progress at school and can make the student’s life extremely unhappy. Students should never be
fearful about reporting any incident of bullying.

• The Study Hall
The study hall is to be used at all times for study; misbehaviour will not be tolerated.

• Safety on corridors and stairways
Students must remember to be careful and safety conscious while using the corridors and stairways.
