Extra Curricular Activity

St Eunan’s College has a diverse and rich extra curricular programme. The school has a proud sporting history. We have Gaelic and soccer teams at all most age levels and the school participates in inter-collegiate championships at Ulster level leading to participation at All Ireland level. The college has basketball, golf, athletics, and swimming teams all competing at inter collegiate, provincial and national level.

We have had notable success in the past numbers of years at national and Ulster level. Our most recent successes have included winning three All Ireland soccer championships at U 13, U 16 and Senior in the one year (2003-04), a unique achievement. Last year (2004-05) the college won the All Ireland Senior Soccer championship for the second straight year. Our Gaelic football
tams have won the Loch an Iuir, Treanor and Herald cups in the past school year. Our basketball teams have won All Ireland championships as recently as 2001.

Sport is not the only extra curricular activity in St Eunan’s college. Students have participated in Tra na gCeist Irish language debates over the last number of years. Our annual concert held in 2nd term is a showcase of musical and artistic talents throughout the school. Guitar and violin lessons are available in the school depending on demand.

Students from the school have participated in the Young Scientist competition for the last number of years.

Students contribute generously to charitable drives throughout the year most notably at Christmas. Following the tragic outcome of the tsunami in South East Asia at the end of 2004, students raised over 816,000 for the various charities tending to relief effort there.

The school tour is much looked forward to by our students. For the last number of years our student been a skiing in Italy, Andorra and Finland. The college has been involved in school exchanges with second level schools in France and Austria.
